Privacy policy
Last updated: October 12, 2026
The short version: PinTube collects nothing. There is no account, no server, no analytics and no advertising.
What the extension stores
The videos you pin, your progress, bookmarks, notes, collections and settings are saved in your browser’s extension storage, on your device. They are never sent to us or to anyone else. Videos you do not pin are not recorded at all.
What the extension can access
It runs only on www.youtube.com, where it adds the pin and bookmark buttons to the player and reads
the title, channel and length of a video when you pin it. It asks for two permissions: storage, and access to
youtube.com.
Requests to YouTube
The popup and the library show video thumbnails, which your browser loads directly from YouTube’s image servers
(i.ytimg.com), as it does on YouTube itself. PinTube makes no other network request.
Backups
Exporting a backup or your notes creates a file on your device. Where you keep that file, and who you share it with, is up to you.
Deleting your data
Delete a single video from the library, or everything at once from Settings. Removing the extension erases its storage with it.
This website
This site uses no cookies, no analytics and no third-party scripts. Your language and theme are remembered in your browser’s local storage. As with any website, the hosting provider may keep standard access logs (IP address, time, page requested) for security.
Changes
If a later version adds optional sync between devices, this policy will be updated before that version is released, and sync will stay off unless you turn it on.
